United ended the season with three points on the south coast with a comfortable 3-0 victory at the Amex Stadium.

Captain Bruno Fernandes broke the Premier League record for assists in a single campaign in the 33rd minute of the game - his out swinging corner was headed in by Patrick Dorgu to give the reds the advantage.

Luke Shaw saw his effort fly wide of the post a few minutes later, however United would double their lead just before the interval. Some clever build up play involving Amad Diallo and Mason Mount was finished off by Bryan Mbeumo with a simple tap in for the Cameroon international - 2-0 United.

Fernandes then made it three with an emphatic finish just a few minutes into the second half, although it initially appeared his effort would be ruled out for offside.

Amad's effort from just outside the box was denied by Brighton 'keeper Verbruggen after another nice sequence of play from Carrick's side, before Lenny Yoro saw his deflected header hit the crossbar.

United end the 2025-26 season in third place on 71 points and will compete in the Champions League again next season, following a two-year absence from Europe's top competition.
