Match Review: Manchester United 2-1 Chelsea

There was no shortage of drama in M16 as United overcame Chelsea in the Premier League at a rainy Old Trafford.

Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez was sent off after just five minutes following a foul on United's Bryan Mbeumo just outside the penalty area - which the referee deemed to be the denial of a clear goal scoring opportunity.

United captain Bruno Fernandes put the reds in front in the 14th minute after Mazraoui'a cross was headed on by Patrick Dorgu - the Portuguese midfielder's 100th goal for the club.

Casemiro headed the ball in from close range to double United's advantage in the 37th minute with an assist from defender Harry Maguire, however the Brazilian midfielder was dismissed in first half stoppage time after receiving a second yellow card for a foul on Chelsea's Andrey Santos - with United leading 2-0 going into half time.

Trevor Chalobah pulled a goal back for the visitors after 80 minutes, with Bruno Fernandes going close for the reds a few minutes later with a decent effort being saved by Chelsea's substitute 'keeper Jörgensen.

Andrey Santos saw his effort blocked in injury time and United would hold on for a vital three points - the Blues remain without a win at Old Trafford since 2013.

The win sees the Red Devils end Gameweek 5 in 11th place having taken 7 points from their opening 5 matches - up next for Amorim's side is a trip to face Brentford on Saturday, September 27.
