Match Review: Wolves 1-4 United..

Manchester United moved up to sixth place in the Premier League with victory over struggling Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux.

Captain Bruno Fernandes put the reds in front in the 25th minute - it looked like the chance might have gone after a slip from the Portuguese playmaker following Matheus Cunha's pass, but Fernandes recovered well to convert his chance - slotting the ball past Wolves goalkeeper Sam Johnstone.

United almost doubled their lead just a few minutes later when Bryan Mbuemo found himself through on goal, only to be denied by former United 'keeper Johnstone before Cunha saw his rebounded effort cleared off the line. The ball then fell to Amad Diallo who volleyed wide.

The home side would find themselves level in first half stoppage time after Bellegarde's strike, with the sides ending the half all square at 1-1.

The visitors proved too strong in the second half though and Mbeumo put United back in front on 51 minutes - a simple finish in the end from Diogo Dalot's pass and the Cameroon international slotted the ball into the empty net.

Nine minutes later and the Red Devils effectively secured the three points with Mason Mount scoring on the volley following a pinpoint cross from the impressive Bruno Fernandes.

Fernandes then bagged his second goal of the night from the penalty spot after VAR decided it was a handball from Wolves defender Yerson Mosquera.

Up next for United is Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Monday, December 15.
